I'm not positive. Most people leave the painting, canvas and gesso, sand, a few layers. Turpentine may interfere with the acrylic base. Or, perform a color change with time. What I recommend you do is e-mail, both the producers of turpentine and acrylic paint brand will be used to inquire about this challenge.
If no one is immune, with the exception of only one other painting on canvas.
